Privacy Policy

Effective Date: March 10, 2026  ·  SABOTLAB INC / wasme.app

WASME is built on the belief that lives deserve to be remembered with dignity. We take your privacy seriously and handle your data with the same care we ask you to bring to every memorial you create.

1. Who We Are

WASME is a mobile application developed and operated by SABOTLAB INC, a Florida corporation. References to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to SABOTLAB INC. You can contact us at pedro@wasme.app.

2. What Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Information collected automatically:

Information we do NOT collect:

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data. Ever.

4. How We Store Your Information

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Storage), hosted on Google's secure cloud infrastructure. Firebase is governed by Google's privacy policies and security standards. Your account credentials are handled by Firebase Authentication.

Photos you upload are stored in Firebase Storage. Memorial content and visitor messages are stored in Firestore.

5. Business Transfers

If SABOTLAB INC is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice in the app before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Who Can See Your Information

Public memorials: Any memorial you mark as public is visible to all WASME users. This includes the name, story, photos, location, and visitor messages you provide.

Private memorials: Visible only to you when logged in.

Your email address: Never displayed publicly. Only used for account authentication and password resets.

Visitor messages: Displayed publicly on the memorial alongside your display name (derived from your email username, not your full email).

Our team: SABOTLAB INC may access your data to provide support, investigate abuse reports, or comply with legal obligations.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate WASME:

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

8. Location Data

WASME requests access to your device's location to show you memorials nearby and to help you place pins accurately on the map. Location access is only used while the app is open and active — we do not track your location in the background.

You can revoke location access at any time in your iPhone Settings. Some features (nearby memorials, map centering) will not work without location access.

Important: When you create a memorial, the GPS coordinates you select are stored and displayed publicly on the map. This means the real-world location associated with a memorial is visible to all users. Please consider this carefully when placing a pin, particularly at or near a private residence.

9. Photos and Media

WASME requests access to your photo library only when you choose to add photos to a memorial. We do not access your photos without your explicit action. Photos you upload are stored on our servers and displayed as part of the memorial.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any photo you submit. Do not upload photos of living individuals without their consent.

10. Content About Other People

WASME allows users to create memorials and share content about deceased individuals. By submitting content about another person, you represent and warrant that:

If you are a family member or legal representative of a deceased person and wish to request removal or transfer of a memorial, please contact us at pedro@wasme.app. We will review all such requests promptly and with care.

11. Children's Privacy

WASME is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law, including in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at pedro@wasme.app and we will delete the account.

12. Your Rights

Legal basis for processing (GDPR): Where GDPR applies, we process your personal information under the following legal bases: (a) Contract — processing necessary to provide the app services you signed up for; (b) Legitimate interests — improving the app, preventing abuse, and securing our systems; (c) Consent — where you have explicitly agreed, such as location access.

You have the right to:

Marketing opt-out: We do not currently send marketing emails. If we do in the future, every marketing email will include an unsubscribe link and you may opt out at any time by contacting us at pedro@wasme.app.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information (CCPA): WASME does not sell your personal information to third parties. If you are a California resident, you have the right to confirm this and to request details about how your data is used. Contact us at pedro@wasme.app to make such a request.

If you are located in the European Union or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at pedro@wasme.app.

13. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and memorials you created will be deleted within 30 days. Visitor messages you have left on other users' memorials may remain associated with your display name.

14. Memorial Content and Deceased Individuals

WASME contains information about deceased individuals submitted by families and the public. We treat this content with respect and dignity. If you are a family member who objects to a memorial about your loved one, please contact us at pedro@wasme.app and we will review your request promptly.

15. Content Moderation

WASME is a platform built on dignity and respect. We reserve the right to review, remove, or restrict any content that violates our Terms of Service, including content that is false, harmful, abusive, or disrespectful to the deceased or their families. Users may report inappropriate content using the report feature in the app. We will review all reports and take appropriate action.

We are not obligated to monitor all content but will act on reports promptly. Removal of content does not guarantee complete deletion from all backup systems immediately.

16. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including Firebase security rules, authentication requirements, and rate limiting. No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to pedro@wasme.app.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, either through the app, by email, or by prominent notice on our website.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as WASME grows. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of WASME after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

18. Service Continuity

We are committed to the long-term preservation of memorials on WASME. If we ever discontinue the service, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice and give users the ability to export or download their memorial content before the service ends.

19. International Users

WASME is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the United States, please be aware that your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using WASME, you consent to this transfer.

For EU users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms where required.
